I come across many interesting computer-related products and tips. This is the place where I will share those items. I’ve been in the business for a long time. I suppose I am a relic since my tech experience pre-dates the IBM-PC.

I originally entered the microcomputer business selling s-100 based systems into pharmacies – both hospital and retail. They were slick for the time and quite expensive. In fact a 16K memory card cost upwards of $600 and I remember selling a 360k floppy disk drive (double-height and double-sided) for $450. The first Winchester disk drive I saw had a capacity of 18 megabytes, weighed over a 100 lbs. and had a footprint the size of a foot locker.

Subsequent to that, I cut my teeth learning to program while I worked in a sales capacity at Northern Lights Computer in Berkeley, CA. It was a great experience in the midst of the computer revolution in and around Silicon Valley. Northern Lights was a distributor for NorthStar Computers (formerly Kentucky Fried Computer) and was on the leading edge as it was run and owned by two sisters – Teryl & Gloria Burt. They were very generous and I owe them a lot.

So much for ancient history. The purpose of this new web site is to share tech information that I think would be useful to my clients and friends.

Over and out.
